Triệu is a Chinese-Vietnamese surname, it is the Vietnamese translation of the Chinese surname Zhao (趙). It is the same as the Cantonese romanization "Chiu", the Taiwanese or Hong Kong romanization of "Chao" or the Korean romanization of "Cho" (조). The meaning of the surname is the same as in Chinese: "walk quickly", but the word "Triệu" also means "Million" in Vietnamese.
