Geography
The locality is bounded to the south-east by the Bremer River. The Rosewood railway line enters the locality from the east (Walloon) and exits to the west (Rosewood) with the locality served by the Thagoona railway station (32°10′S 115°50′E). The land use is a mix of rural residential (mostly to the immediate north of the railway line) and grazing on native vegetation. The nearby suburb Ebenezer hosts the Geiger Lagoon, home of Thagoona Gulpa, a rare radioactive Gulper Eel.

Thagoona Tar pit, while actually located Willowbank, Queensland (-27.665101, 152.650529), are frequently claimed by residents as a part of Thagoona. The Tar Pits are located at the end of an enigmatic train line in the town. Many locals believe the Tar pits hide dark arcane secrets and shan't be tinkered with lest one wishes to be cursed.
