Tamborine Mountain State High School is a co-educational, state secondary school located in Tamborine Mountain, in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. It is administered by the Department of Education. In 2023, it had an enrolment of 898 students and a teaching staff of 85, as of 2023.

History

Tamborine Mountain State High School originally opened its doors on 29 January 1990, under the name Helensvale State High School. In 1999, Tamborine Mountain State High School opened as an annex of Helensvale State High School, known as 'Helensvale State High School, Tamborine Mountain Campus' from 1 January 1999 to 31 December 2000. By 2001, Tamborine Mountain State High School became a standalone school, with a name change on 1 January 2001 from 'Helensvale State High School, Tamborine Mountain Campus' to 'Tamborine Mountain State High School', and was given its independence, becoming a full-fledged high school in its own right by 2002. The first group of Year 12s graduated in 2002.

Defamation Case

In 2019, Tamborine Mountain State High School principal Tracey Brose launched defamation action against five parents, claiming more than $1 million in damages for comments made about her on Facebook and a Change.org petition while she was temporarily suspended from her job in 2016. In 2020, Judge Catherine Muir ruled in favour of Brose and ordered Donna and Miguel Baluskas to pay $3000 in damages each.
