Szczurkowo

Szczurkowo is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Sępopol, within Bartoszyce County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, at the border of Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia. It lies approximately 12 km north-west of Sępopol, 14 km north-east of Bartoszyce, and 69 km north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn. The initial village is partitioned, the northern area is part of the Kaliningrad Oblast and uninhabited. Szczurkowo is also considered one of the largest nesting sites of the white storks in Poland, with several pairs breeding here yearly.
