San Pedro is a district of the Montes de Oca canton, in the San José province of Costa Rica.

Geography

San Pedro has an area of 4.7 km2 and an elevation of 1,205 metres.

Demographics

For the 2011 census, San Pedro had a population of 23,977 inhabitants.

The district is home to the University of Costa Rica, Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, and other institutions of higher learning. The San Pedro district has experienced significant residential and commercial development growth, with modern commercial buildings gradually replacing the once-quiet suburbs, a testament to its rapid urbanization.
