Road Rules 2007: Viewers' Revenge
Road Rules: Viewers' Revenge is the fourteenth and final season of the MTV reality television series Road Rules. The season premiered on January 30, 2007, at 9:00 pm EST/PST and ran through May 9, 2007. The cast is made up of six former Road Rulers and ten "Pit Crew" members. This is the first MTV reality show to be filmed and then aired in near real time with input from viewers at home. The cast drove around California, Arizona, and Nevada competing in various missions. Each mission earned a prize of $10,000 to be pooled and split by the six cast members who made it to the finale. In addition to the cash prize, individual cast members won a Mazda3. This season brought several changes, most notably the requirement for some to face-off against pit crew members for the right to stay on the RV. The cast was also given money and filming was not done on an ongoing schedule. This season also included new sponsorships from Wendy's and Mazda. While this season was originally touted as bringing Road Rules out of hiatus, there have been no further seasons of Road Rules since.
Production details
In 2004, after its 13th season had wrapped, the show had not been renewed by MTV and the production company of Road Rules officially stated that the show was "on hiatus". For the better part of two years, Bunim/Murray Productions lobbied to have the show's contract renewed, failing twice. Ultimately in 2006, Bunim-Murray Productions had announced that they were retooling the show to include an "interactive" portion of the series as part of a new section of their company. Viewers had input in the cast eliminations, and elimination face-offs aired exclusively as digital elements on mtv.com. In late 2006, MTV announced they were picking up the series once again, resulting in Viewers' Revenge. The season's working title was Road Rules 360.

In addition, eight new cast members were brought on to compete with the alumni for spots on the RV. Two others, Derek and Mike, later joined this group. Derek joined after Abram was kicked off, opening up a spot in the total cast. The additional new cast members are called the "Pit Crew". The cast members who comprised the original "Pit Crew" are:

The Game
Rules
Rather than embarking on their trip several months before the air date, this show is being filmed and then broadcast in near real time. Cast members will only have the opportunity to compete in missions and nominate cast members for elimination. Viewers at home will be able to decide most other elements of the game from the MTV website. The rules of Viewers' Revenge state after each mission, the group nominates one male and one female. The three male cast members are responsible for nominating the female. The three female cast members are responsible for nominating the male. Then viewers at home choose who, of those two people, will have to go into an elimination face-off. If they lose the face-off, the cast member will be replaced by one of the eight-member "Pit Crew." The replacement will be voted on by internet visitors to the MTV.com website. Voted off cast members are eligible to come back on the RV. After a cast member is voted off, they go back to the "Pit Crew". Also, if the group loses two missions in a row, they must nominate two males and two females for an elimination face-off. On episode three, due to Abram getting kicked off, it was announced only one castmember would be placed in the elimination pit, so long as the Roadies win their mission. If they lose their mission, they have to nominate two castmembers to the elimination pit. Derek was cast and added to the Pit Crew after Abram was booted for violating the No-Violence policy. On the final episode, David was booted from not only the RV but the show for sending unaired information to outside viewers which was a severe rule violation, saving Adam, who was nominated that day for the Pit.

The ultimate road trip returns with six [Road Rules](https://bliptext.com/articles/road-rules) alumni ready to compete: Veronica, Abram, Kina, Adam, Susie, and Shane. To begin, **Roadmaster** Drew Bell drives up in the RV and explains the rules. Each mission is worth $10,000 toward the team's handsome reward for each Roadie who is on the RV at the end of the season. Each week, the team must nominate one guy and one girl to go into the elimination round known as **The Pit**. At that point, the viewers vote online to decide which Road Ruler is sent to The Pit. In addition to the six Road Rules alums, there are eight fresh faces that make up the **Pit Crew**. Each week, the viewers vote one member of the Pit Crew into the Pit to face off against the chosen Road Ruler. The winner goes onto the RV and the loser goes to the Pit Crew. If they lose two missions in a row, the stakes are doubled and the Roadies will have to send two members to The Pit. At the end of the season, the Road Rulers on the RV will receive the handsome reward they accumuluated throughout the season and a new [Mazda](https://bliptext.com/articles/mazda). After one night on the RV, the Roadies get their first clue, to head to a [Universal Studios](https://bliptext.com/articles/universal-studios-lot) movie lot for their first mission, a Car Bungee. In teams of two, the Roadies will have to drive a bungee-strapped car off of a platform suspended above a pool. After the car stops bouncing, they have to throw three bags of luggage out the windows, jump out of the windows themselves into a pool, collect the luggage, and swim and run with the luggage to the finish line. The three teams must have a combined score of under five minutes. Kina and Abram are first. Kina is terrified at first, but Abram cracks jokes to calm her down, and they finish in 1:19. Adam and Veronica go next, and finish quickly as well, even though Adam ends up carrying all of the luggage. Susie and Shane go last, and Susie struggles a bit in the pool, but the team still manages to finish the mission in 4 minutes, 26 seconds, 34 seconds under the 5 minute time limit. They have successfully completed the mission and bank $10,000. The next day, the group sits down to discuss which guy and which girl to nominate to The Pit. It becomes clear that alliances are going to be the main driving force of the decisions. Adam, Kina, Susie, and Abram decide to break up the friendship between Shane and Veronica and both are nominated to The Pit. As Veronica leaves, she vows that she'll be back with a vengeance if she returns to the RV. As the RV drives away, Veronica flips her castmates a middle finger with her trademark "sociopathic bitch" grin on her face. ## Episode 2: Abram Gets the Boot (Again) Shane returns to the RV, and with Veronica's loss to Tori in The Pit, Tori joins the RV for the first time. Shane initially feels betrayed and is less than enthusiastic to return. Tori is nervous about being the first member of the Pit Crew to join the RV, and concerned in her ability to perform in the missions. When both are picked up, Tori is warmly welcomed. Shane decides to forget about his grudge, and the new group enjoys the first night together. The next morning, the team receives their clue telling them to head to the Encina Jetty, where they learn they will be participating in a Swift Water Rescue. They spend the first day with Swift Water Lifeguards, learning how to rescue a victim caught in the waters of a jetty that leads into the [Pacific Ocean](https://bliptext.com/articles/pacific-ocean). The Road Rulers learn that, though this challenge is not as extreme as a car bungee, the dangers are much more real. Their mission takes place the next day, when the team must successfully perform two swift water rescues, each on the first try. The rescues will take place in groups of three with one person playing the role of the victim, and two others rescuing them. Adam and Kina say that they are the most comfortable in the water and volunteer to be the victims. Both are rescued and the team banks another $10,000. Deliberations commence at an RV park, where Adam and Susie volunteer themselves into The Pit, in an effort to avoid the drama of the previous week's nominations. Abram has a problem with Adam's choice to volunteer himself and an argument quickly escalates between them. Although Kina warns both of them that a fight would mean being kicked off the show, but Abram takes an enraged swing at Adam. Shane rushes to calm them down, but the damage has already been done, as Abram storms past Tori and Kina into the RV to pack his bags. This is his second fight on Road Rules (the first being against Donell in [Road Rules: South Pacific](https://bliptext.com/articles/road-rules-south-pacific)). After Abram's departure, the remaining Road Rulers are notified that they will not have to send anyone to The Pit. Instead, they can watch the live Pit battle between the top two Pit Crew vote-getters. ## Episode 3: A Pit Stop in the Sand (Pit Stop #1) After a tough Pit game of Fumble (with Adam and Susie watching), Dan joins the RV. Dan shares that he might be interested in a relationship with Tori, and when Tori reveals it was Dan that she was hoping for on the RV, he might be in luck. The other Road Rules encourage their relationship. The next morning, the Road Rulers receive a clue telling them to go to the sand dunes at [Pismo Beach](https://bliptext.com/articles/pismo-beach) for their first **Pit Stop**, where the Road Rulers will be competing against the Pit Crew. For the Pit Stop, each team is told to split off into three guy-girl pairs. The pairs then attach themselves to a rope, and will need to climb up the sand dune to retrieve large tires, bring them back to the starting line, and place them on poles. The first team to collect all of their tires will win $10,000. Even though the mission seems simple, it is physically demanding. A little over halfway through, Jerry complains he is having trouble breathing and asks for his inhaler. After the medical crew examines him, they decide that he has to stop competing immediately for his own safety. Jerry's withdrawal disqualifies the Pit Crew, and it's decided that the winner will be determined by the number of tires collected to this point. The Road Rulers' 28 tires win over the Pit Crew's 20 tires and the Road Rulers bank another $10,000. The voting has now changed, with the team now only required to send one person to The Pit. The team decides to draw names from a hat, so every name is put into a hat (with the exception of Dan, who is [immune](https://bliptext.com/articles/immunity-reality-television) from nomination since it is his first week on the RV). Tori's name is pulled and she is nominated. ## Episode 4: Rocks and a Hard Place **Mission**: Carry Your Weight **Mission Location**: Turtle Rock, Joshua Tree, California ## Episode 5: Up to Speed ## Episode 6: World's Strongest Roadie (Pit Stop #2) ## Episode 7: The Roadies Do Spring Break ## Episode 8: Mountain Warefare -->After filming
