History

Reksoft was established in 1991 by three friends and graduates of Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation: Dmitry Rudakov, Alexander Egorov, and Viktor Kozlov. The name "Reksoft" was derived from the first three letters of the founders' surnames. Since its inception, Alexander Egorov has served as the CEO. Initially, the company focused on software development for foreign partners. In 1992, Reksoft secured its first long-term contract with the Swiss telecommunications concern Ascom, a collaboration that continues to this day. The larger budgets from foreign projects allowed the founders to allocate resources to other ventures. At the advice of Dmitry Rudakov's father, the company invested in book sales and developed a bookstore on the Terra Fantastica publishing house's website in 1996. Initially named "Azon" after the American online store Amazon, the name eventually evolved to "Ozon" and became popular among Russian customers. On April 9, 1998, Ozon officially commenced operations, offering a range of products including books, videotapes, music discs, and DVDs. Its primary clientele consisted of Russian immigrants in need of Russian-language literature. In addition to Ozon, Reksoft developed and launched the first domestic electronic payment system, ASSIST, which now handles over 80% of electronic payments in Russia. Reksoft also created a billing system for the telecommunications software manufacturer Barsum, and the Edelweiss hotel business management system. In 1999, Reksoft became one of the founding companies of NP RUSSOFT, with Alexander Egorov serving as a board member—a position he still holds today. Since the early 2000s, Reksoft has obtained the ISO 9001:2008 quality certificate and expanded its presence in the domestic market, establishing software development centers in Moscow (2003), Voronezh (2008), and Rostov-on-Don (2019). The company was also part of the T1 Group (formerly Technoserv) from 2008 to 2022. By 2020, Reksoft had completed over 1,000 projects and gained recognition as a trusted partner for digital transformation across various industries, including retail, banking and finance, transport, logistics, telecommunications, and the oil and gas sector. Its clientele included major international and Russian companies such as S7, Russian Post, Gazprom Neft, O'KEY, NP GLONASS, OTP Bank, Otkritie, Rostelecom, Tele2, FXDD, Swisscom Mobile, Springer Nature, and T-Systems, among others. In 2021, Reksoft established Reksoft.Labs for the development of its own technological and product innovations. In response to changes in 2022, including the departure of foreign suppliers, Reksoft initiated the consolidation of Russian teams from Western vendors. It welcomed specialists from former Russian divisions of Accenture, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Aveva, IBM, SAP, Oracle, Dassault Systems, and VIST Group, forming new directions in the company's activities, such as transformational and strategic consulting, automated control system technologies, digitalization of production, mining solutions, and oil and gas departments. Leveraging these teams, Reksoft expanded its expertise and aimed to become a national digital champion in the domestic IT market, offering comprehensive digital transformation services. By combining strategic and IT consulting, along with expertise in custom software development, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), industrial automation, and proprietary solutions, Reksoft Group provided holistic solutions for diverse tasks based on domestic software. In 2023, Reksoft Group became an official partner of the Skolkovo Foundation, joined the Oil and Gas Cluster Association, and participated in the Council for the Development of Digital Technologies for Industry at the Association of Computer and Information Technology Enterprises (APKIT). Additionally, in August of the same year, Reksoft Group announced the acquisition of 100% of the RNT Group, a subsidiary of EPAM Systems Inc. (EPAM), solidifying its position as the leader in custom software development in the Russian IT market.
