Rânes
Rânes is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France.
Geography
The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, Les Beauchards, La Nuguerie, La Forêterie, Le Chêne Angot, L'Auramière, Rânes, Le Bisson, Le Ménil Angot, Les Vieux Parcs, Pringault, La Robillardière and La Barbelière. It is 3420 ha in size. The highest point in the commune is 246 m. Rânes along with another 70 communes is part of a 20,593 hectare, Natura 2000 conservation area, called the Haute vallée de l'Orne et affluents. The river Maire along with six streams, the Rouvray, the Gosu, La Noeve, the Aunais, the Chalau, and the Masses and the Moulin de Besnard are the seven watercourses that traverse the commune.
