Puračić
**Puračić ** (Cyrillic: Пурачић) is a village in the municipality of Lukavac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Puračić is one of the most famous villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is known for its popular fun fair.
History
Puračić in its distant past was a station on a road from Tuzla over Visoko to Istanbul. Because of that, it was a very important road as a center where trading took place.
The Puračić Market
One of the villages oldest traditions, it still sticks around even today, is a market every Thursday. Surprisingly, the appearance of the market has only one story: The Ottoman Empire, one Thursday in the middle of October, 1824., decided to open it for the first time. The man behind it was Husein-kapetan Gradašćević. From the very beginning the market was considered one of the cheapest and best ones in the South-East parts of Bosnia. It was also very well known for its animal market, as, very often, butchers from Sarajevo went to the market.
Demographics
According to the 2013 census, its population was 2,909.
