Pupillidae
Pupillidae is a family of mostly minute, air-breathing, land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks or micromollusks in the superfamily Pupilloidea. This family has two subfamilies (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).: Pupillinae W. Turton, 1831 and Pupoidinae Iredale, 1940.
Distribution
Pupoides marginatus is endemic to Cuba. The type genus, Pupilla, in direct contrast, has numerous living and extinct species found in Europe, Northern Africa, North America and South-East Asia.

In this family, the number of haploid chromosomes lies between 26 and 30 (according to the values in this table).
