Profound Lore Records is a Canadian independent record label founded in May 2004. The label is known for publishing extreme metal and experimental artists. It "began as the 'hobby-like venture' of a few friends but, over the past six years, the label has evolved into a one-man enterprise, shaped a distinct 'aesthetic identity' and provided owner Chris Bruni with a full-time job." Notable artists who have published their work by the label include Agalloch and Bell Witch. The label has been described as having imbued brand loyalty to some fans. The label received criticism from The A.V. Club for distributing National Socialist black metal artists.
