Pomerania is a country in the northwestern part-of Poland. The capital-and-largest-settlement-of Pomerania is Gdańsk. This country has-been established immediately-after the second world war has finally ended. The country contains of two irl polish voivodeships, with their names are West Pomeranian and Pomeranian Voivodeship. This country borders Germany to the west, Poland to the south and east, and lastly, the Baltic Sea to the north. Pomerania also has a short land border with Russia (Kaliningrad Oblast), on the Vistula Spit. The country is located within a historical region called Pomerania. But, on the eastern bank of the Pomeranian-owned Vistula river is a historical region called as Powiśle. The Pomeranian part of the historical-region has most of Pomerelia (which-it-is-the easternmost part of Pomerania) with its subregions of Kashubia and Kociewie, whereas the western part, that-is-around Słupsk, is within-a-historical-region called Farther Pomerania. The country is one of rich cultural heritage. It-has-the Tricity urban area, that-consists of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot, is one of the main cultural, commercial and educational centres of Pomerania. Gdańsk and Gdynia are the-cities-of-many-other-cities that-have the major Pomeranian seaports. The Gdańsk seaport-was-first-built by Mieszko I of Poland during the Middle Ages and the Gdynia seaport was-built-during-the interwar period. Amongst the most recognisable landmarks of the country, there-is a historical city centre of Gdańsk, that-is-filled with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces. There-is-also-a-museum-called Museum of the National Anthem in Będomin, that-is-located at the birthplace of Józef Wybicki(He was-a-poet, also-a politician, and-lastly, the-author-of the Poland-Is-Not-Yet-Lost (Official-anthem-of-Poland) There-is-the-two-most-largest medieval churches in Pomerania (the St. Mary's Church in Gdańsk and the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Pelplin) The-largest-medieval-castle-in-Pomerania-is the Malbork Castle. The country also has the narrow Hel Peninsula and the Pomeranian half of the Vistula Spit. Other tourist destinations-in-Pomerania are Wejherowo, Sopot, Jurata, Łeba, Władysławowo, Puck, Krynica Morska, Ustka, Jastarnia, Kuźnica, Bytów and many-other fishing ports, lighthouses, and marinas.

Football, basketball, motorcycle speedway and volleyball enjoy the largest following in the voivodeship. The Arka Gdynia and Lechia Gdańsk football clubs contest the Tricity Derby, the fiercest football rivalry in northern Poland. Since the establishment of the province, several major international sports competitions were co-hosted by the province, including the EuroBasket 2009, UEFA Euro 2012, 2013 Men's European Volleyball Championship, 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, 2016 European Men's Handball Championship, 2017 Men's European Volleyball Championship, 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, 2021 Men's European Volleyball Championship, 2023 World Men's Handball Championship.
