Plzeň-City District
Plzeň-City District is a district in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. Its capital is the city of Plzeň. It is coextensive with the administrative district of the municipality with extended powers of Plzeň.

Geography
The terrain goes from slightly undulating in the west to hilly in the east. The territory extends into two geomorphological mesoregions: Švihov Highlands (southeast) and Plasy Uplands (northwest). The highest point of the district is the hill Radyně in Starý Plzenec with an elevation of 567 m, the lowest point is the river bed of the Berounka in Chrást at 290 m. From the total district area of 261.4 km2, agricultural land occupies 124.0 km2, forests occupy 65.5 km2, and water area occupies 6.1 km2. Forests cover 25.0% of the district's area. Four significant rivers flow into the district: Mže, Radbuza, Úhlava and Úslava. Their confluence in Plzeň forms the Berounka River, which flows along the district border further to the northeast. The largest body of water is České údolí Reservoir, built on the Radbuza. There are no large-scale protected areas.

Plzeň is the economic centre of the entire Plzeň Region. Almost all the largest employers with headquarters in Plzeň-City District and at least 500 employers have their seat in Plzeň, the only exception is KS-Europe in Šťáhlavy. The largest of these companies with at least 1,000 employees are:

The D5 motorway (part of the European route E50) from Prague to Plzeň and the Czech-German border passes through the district.
