Plougonvelin is a commune in the Finistère department of Brittany in north-western France.

Climate

Plougonvelin has an oceanic climate (Köppen climate classification Cfb). The average annual temperature in Plougonvelin is 12.5 C. The average annual rainfall is 640.5 mm with December as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in August, at around 17.5 C, and lowest in February, at around 7.8 C. The highest temperature ever recorded in Plougonvelin was 34.6 C on 12 July 1983; the coldest temperature ever recorded was -9.8 C on 21 February 1948.

Inhabitants of Plougonvelin are called in French Plougonvelinois.

Breton language

The municipality launched a plan for the Breton language through Ya d'ar brezhoneg on 16 June 2005. In 2008, 8.44% of primary-school children attended bilingual schools.
