Newham North East was a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, in the London Borough of Newham. It returned one Member of Parliament, elected by the first past the post system.

History

The constituency was created for the February 1974 general election, and abolished for the 1997 general election, when it was partly replaced by the new East Ham constituency. It was one of the most multicultural constituencies in the United Kingdom; the 1991 census showed 53.4% of the constituency was of minority ethnic. The constituency shared boundaries with the Newham North East electoral division for election of councillors to the Greater London Council at elections in 1973, 1977 and 1981.
