Longford Senior Hurling Championship
The Longford Club Hurling Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised by Longford GAA among hurling clubs in County Longford, Ireland. The winner qualifies to represent the county in the Leinster Junior Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship. Currently three clubs compete in the County Championship: Wolfe Tones, Longford Slashers and Clonguish Gaels.
Format
Group stage
The 3 clubs start in a groups stage. Over the course of the group stage, each team plays once against the others in the group, resulting in each team being guaranteed two group games. Two points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss. The teams are ranked in the group stage table by points gained, then scoring difference and then their head-to-head record. The top two teams in the group qualify for the final.
Final
The group stage winner and runners-up contest the final. The winning team are declared champions.
Qualification for subsequent competition
At the end of the championship, the winning team qualify to the subsequent Leinster Junior Club Hurling Championship.
