In Kerala, the administrative divisions below the district are called taluks. There are 78 taluks with 1670 villages (including group villages). For revenue administration, a district subdivided into revenue divisions, each comprising multiple taluks within its jurisdiction. A taluk contain several revenue villages under its jurisdiction.
