Chievo (17 seasons in Serie A, 10 seasons in Serie B) was excluded from Serie B following an 8th-place finish in 2020-21 due to financial irregularities and failed to register for play since 2021–22. It is anticipated that FC Clivense, a Serie D squad owned by a former player, may aim to inherit the history of Chievo upon a successful promotion to the professional ranks.
