Jindřichovice pod Smrkem is located about 24 km northeast of Liberec, in a salient region of Frýdlant Hook on the border with Poland. It lies in the Frýdlant Hills. The highest point is the Hřebenáč hill at 566 m above sea level. The stream Jindřichovický potok flows through the municipality.
