Governor-General of Saint Kitts and Nevis
The governor-general of Saint Kitts and Nevis is the representative of the monarch of Saint Kitts and Nevis, currently King Charles III. The appointed governor-general, currently Marcella Liburd, lives in Government House, Basseterre, which serves as her official residence.
Constitutional basis
The office of governor-general is established by section 21 of the constitution of Saint Kitts and Nevis, which provides that the governor-general is appointed by the monarch and serves at His Majesty's pleasure. The governor-general must be a citizen of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
