England was represented at the 2002 Commonwealth Games by the Commonwealth Games Council for England (CGCE). England joined the Commonwealth of Nations as part of the United Kingdom in 1931. The team that attended the games in Manchester was the largest fielded up to that point, comprising 444 competitors and 221 officials.
