Cowboys–Eagles rivalry
The Cowboys–Eagles rivalry is a National Football League (NFL) rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys became a part of the NFL in the 1960 season; however, it was in the subsequent season that they transitioned to the NFL Eastern Conference, establishing a divisional rivalry with the Eagles and competing in two matchups each year ever since. The rivalry has been ranked number one overall in the NFL in 1992 and 2014, characterized by bitterly contested games that are typical of the NFC East. The matchups have been the most frequently featured on NBC Sunday Night Football with a total of 16. The Cowboys lead the overall series, 74–57. The two teams have met four times in the playoffs, with the Cowboys holding a 3–1 record.
