Briona is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 80 km northeast of Turin and about 15 km northwest of Novara. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,196 and an area of 24.7 km2. The municipality of Briona contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) San Bernardino and Proh. Briona borders the following municipalities: Barengo, Caltignaga, Carpignano Sesia, Casaleggio Novara, Castellazzo Novarese, Fara Novarese, Momo, San Pietro Mosezzo, and Sillavengo.
