Ardabil County
Ardabil County is in Ardabil province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Ardabil.
History
After the 2006 National Census, Sareyn District was separated from the county in the establishment of Sareyn County. Gharbi Rural District was separated from the Central District in the formation of Samarin District, to include the new Dujaq Rural District. After the 2016 census, the village of Aralluy-e Bozorg merged with another village to form the new city of Arallu, and the village of Samarin was elevated to the status of a city.
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 542,930 in 131,950 households. The following census in 2011 counted 564,365 people in 156,242 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 605,992 in 180,975 households.
