Łagiewniki, Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Łagiewniki is a village in Dzierżoniów County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the administrative district (gmina) called Gmina Łagiewniki. It lies approximately 23 km east of Dzierżoniów and 40 km south of the regional capital Wrocław.

History

In the final stages of World War II, on 25 January 1945, a German-organized death march of Allied prisoners of war from the Stalag Luft 7 POW camp passed through the village. From 1975 to 1998 the village was in Wrocław Voivodeship.
