The 2002 Philadelphia Phillies season was the 120th season in the history of the franchise. The team failed to improve upon their 86–76 record from the previous season. However, this would be their last losing season until 2013. On June 2, 2002, starting pitcher Robert Person hit two home runs, a grand slam and a 3-run home run in an 18–3 victory over the Montreal Expos.
